Fladbury

Parish Plan: The group had requested financial support to kick off the exercise with the whole village. It was agreed that expenses up to £250 would be accepted.

Station Road verge damage: Views were expressed by a representative of Simms and Woods and councillors from Cropthorne and Charlton PCs as well as Fladbury PC. The company had issued instructions for drivers not to exceed 20mph. They were also made aware of the illegal use of mobile phones by drivers and also the use of the verges when unnecessary. After a lengthy discussion about farm traffic and buses not having room to pass it was thought that the only realistic solution was to improve and widen the roads where necessary. The clerk was to write to the county council to investigate a solution and funding.

The Green: It was agreed to resite the tub outside the Monastery and to ask if one repeater signpost could be removed.

WDC Cllr Meikle indicated that the district council had received a favourable support grant from central funds but was aware that the county council was less favourable. He said the proposed reorganisation of local government based on a non-elected regional authority should be of concern to all.

Footpaths: Cllr Mills was to attend an area meeting where he would bring up the subject of a lack of strimming back of overgrowth.

Blocking of pathway in Broadway Lane: A recent incident was reported of cars blocking the pathway along Broadway Lane. This is to be monitored as well as other incidences of half parking on the road and half on the path.

Floodlighting of the church: A solution had been found for funding from several sources for this scheme and it was agreed to go ahead.
