NEW Triad Theatre Company presents Oscar Wilde's masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest, the story of Jack Worthing, found in a handbag at London's Victoria Station as a baby. He needs to discover his identity before he can marry Lady Bracknell's daughter.
One of the wittiest comedies written, Earnest delights audiences young and old with its sparkle and humour - a light-hearted romp of Bunburying with bogus identities, afternoon tea parties and stylishly self-centred people.
It's most famous line, Lady Bracknell's exclamation, 'A handbag?' has been immortalised in cartoon, comedy sketches and film.
Director John Strehlow specialises in presenting classics to audiences of all ages and backgrounds, including students studying drama, literature, and theatre studies.
The Importance of Being Earnest runs at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, on Friday and Saturday, January 27 and 28 at 7.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday.
