Running
MEMBERS of the Amazing Feet Running Club started the Inter-Club Race League at Sunday's Not The Roman IX 12km road race, at Stratford-upon-Avon. The 16 athletes joined the field of around 600 on a bitterly cold morning, the race starting in fog, but continuing in bright sunshine after three miles.
Seven members finished in the first 80, within 2.5 minutes of each other.
Shaw Pye was first home for the club, and first league leader of the year, in 29th position, in a time of 46 minutes 57 seconds.
David Whymant came second over-60 male for 57th place in 48-38, and Rachel Ward also picked up a prize for second in her category, in 53-07 and 133rd overall. Ward is the first leader in the Ladies League.
Other club finishers were Simon Jarosinski, 36th in 47-17; Craig Bone 49th, 47-38; Craig Lewis 40th, 47-44; John Amos 67th, 49-02; Chris Catchpole (new member) 78th, 49-35; Rob Middleton 111th, 52-01; David Pye 127th, 52-55; Gerry Sanders 251st, 57-30; Sarah Lewis 307th 59-35; Roger Canavan 355th one hour 1-41; Andy Norris 364th, 1-2-01; Lindsay Pulley 421st , 1-4-20; Richard Baker 426th, 1-4-26.
In the Inter-Club Race League members take part in as many of the 16 designated races throughout the year as they can, scoring points from 30 downwards for their position within the club entry. The next event is at Stourbridge on February 5.
The 10th anniversary ROC Fencing Wyre Forest eight-mile multi-terrain race on February 12 is now fully subscribed, so no further entries can be taken.
Table tennis
FORMER Kidderminster Table Tennis League and county chairman Jeremy Duffield won his three games on his return to Bewdley CC A , helping his side beat third-placed Jim's Gym B 6-4.
