CHADDESLEY Corbett warmed up for their forthcoming Worcestershire Junior Cup semi-final against Fairfield Villa with a comfortable 4-0 home win over struggling Sedgley Town in West Mildands League division two.
With new keeper David Anson unavailable, Stuart Brooks returned in goal, and had a fairly quiet game although he was called on to make two superb saves.
After early pressure, James Dale fired Corbett into the lead with a strike from the edge of the box before a super second half double from Liam Binner and Jon Baker's deflected effort made the result safe.
Manager Martin Westcott is looking forward to facing in-form Fairfield in the cup semi-finals, having played in the Chaddesley side which lost the 1987 final 1-0 to Wyre Forest.
He said: "Since then Chaddesley's record in the competition has been abysmal, but it is still the cup we want to win.
"We will start as underdogs against Fairfield because they are flying at the top of Midland Combination Division One."
Chaddesley recently signed two Fairfield fringe players - Andrew Pike and Binner.
Players are to meet at the recreation ground, Fairfield, for 12.15pm. Kick-off is at 1.45pm.
