A high-tech bus that bends in the middle was given a successful road trial on express routes in Worcester, Droitwich, Malvern and Pershore this week.
It was the second visit to the county for the futuristic StreetCar, which was available for people to look at, as well undergoing extensive route testing to see whether it is suitable for the roads and towns of Worcestershire.
Areas in the Malvern Hills and Wychavon districts were chosen for the demonstration run, because they are earmarked for future services as part of Project Express, launched by Worcestershire County Council and other groups last September.
Coun John Smith, cabinet member for the environment, said: "We wanted to give the people of Worcester another opportunity to comment on the changing shape of travel and allow those further afield to see the vehicle and have their say."
The £300,000 StreetCar is 61ft long, with two entrances, a ramp and
space for wheelchairs, plus open standing areas for shorter journeys.
"There were no problems at all. It coped well on all the roads," said a county council spokesman.
