A TEENAGER was left with a broken nose and fractured cheekbone after what police described as a "nasty attack" in Bromsgrove Road, Redditch.
The assault was one of six reported incidents in the town since the new year.
On this occasion, the 18-year-old was assaulted by three men near Redditch United Football Club as he walked away from the town centre at about 1.30am on Saturday, January 14.
He was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries following the attack.
In a separate incident on the same night, another teenager was taken to hospital with facial injuries after he was assaulted outside the Sportsmans Arms in Peakman Street shortly before 1am.
The 16-year-old boy was attacked by a group of three or four other men after an argument earlier on inside the pub.
On January 11, a 40-year-old man was assaulted by a group of six Asian men as he walked along Other Road at 9.40am.
He was treated for a broken nose, two black eyes and injuries to his ribs.
In another incident on January 5, a teenage boy and a pensioner were attacked on the same day - the first on Battens Drive and the second while he sat in his car on a driveway in Plymouth Road.
And in the early hours of New Year's Day, a couple were assaulted in Matchborough as they walked home from a party.
They were attacked by two youths as they turned into Huntington Close from Arrow Valley Park at about 1.30am.
Both were punched in the face and the woman was left needing several stitches. The man suffered a suspected broken nose and bruising.
Redditch police has renewed its appeal for information about these incidents.
