On Wednesday night last week, at a meeting of the Smallwood Hospital Saturday Committee, a well deserved compliment was paid to Mr T Clarke, proprietor of the "Gondolas" and other shows which visit Redditch annually.
For several years Mr Clarke has regularly given the proceeds of one night at the fair to the Hospital Saturday Fund, which has benefited by this means to the amount of about £84.
Mr F H Joscelyne presided at the meeting too, on behalf of the committee who, wishing to show their gratitude and appreciation, presented Mr Clarke with a very beautiful enlarged photo of the hospital, framed in oak and suitably inscribed.
In responding, Mr Clarke did more than merely express his thanks, he made the welcome announcement that as he had done in the past, he should continue to do in the future.
