ALCESTER rural district Council agreed at its meeting on Wednesday to sell one of its houses on the new Conway Estate to an applicant on its housing list.
This is the first post-war house to be sold by Alcester Council, and it is believed to be the first sold by any local authority in the district. It was agreed on the recommendation of the finance committee that the price of the house, including the land should be fixed at £1,700.
The purchaser is to pay the Council's legal costs and be subject to conditions safeguarding the council regarding re-sale, erection of buildings or conversion of the house for business purposes.
