Droitwich men's 1st XI 0 Solihull Blossomfield men's 1st XI 1
DROITWICH matched leaders Solihull on Saturday and were separated by just a single goal in the West Midlands Premier Division.
Spa made a mockery of their lowly status by testing the leaders in a hard fought encounter.
However, Spa was denied a share of the points when Nisar Chandhry bagged the game's only goal.
Despite defeat, the gap between Droitwich and the team closest above them, Evesham, are still only five points after Stone beat the Worcestershire side.
Droitwich, who have yet to win a league game this season since they were promoted, will be aiming to try and put that right on Saturday, January 28, when they go to high flying Stone.
Spa will have to be wary against a third placed side that tops the division's scoring charts - bagging 52 goals in 12 matches.
Saturday's opponents have been propelled to the division's summit by top scorers Jonathan Allchin (20) and Lawrence Bassett (14).
