BROMSGROVE Colts were knocked out of the North Midlands Cup by a powerful Worcester side on Saturday.
Two penalties and a try condemned the Boars to the North Midlands Plate for the fourth season in a row.
Bromsgrove were unable to cope with Worcester's powerful forward line, but they worked hard to match their opposite numbers in the backs. The midfield of Jess Banner and Stuart Young held the line firmly with some outstanding defence.
Despite bright performances by Ben Newman and Gareth Thomas Bromsgrove lacked the cutting edge to open up their opponents. James Hinks, back from injury, helped the Boars' back line as they tussled against a bigger back row. Bromsgrove will now either meet Luctonians or Whitchurch in the Plate's next round.
