RECENTLY there was a story in the Advertiser/Messenger relating to the Bromsgrove 'blackout' on Saturday, January 7.
I also note the 'one sentence' relating to the 53 residents who were without power until Sunday lunchtime.
My 84-year-old father was one of those residents and it was no small matter for him or the other 52 residents left in the cold and dark.
The power was only restored to them on the Sunday after a generator had been brought round to the Dolphin Leisure Centre car park.
We were told by npower that the fault would take days to repair.
I feel very angry that a generator was not supplied on Saturday night as they must have known then the length of time it would be before power could be restored and it would have stopped the residents having a miserable night in their homes.
The problem was made even more bizarre when twenty yards away from my father's flat the post-Christmas lights were blazing away.
I hope your readers will agree the blackout deserved more than a few lines on page 27.
