SIR - I wonder if D E Margrett can remember that the trigger for "recycling" was Labour's landfill tax? Wasn't this levy inflicted upon Mr Margrett's beloved Labour Party by Mr Margrett's beloved and utterly unelected European Commission?

At £10 per wheelie, the set-up costs for Worcestershire will be in the region of £12m. Wouldn't that pay for pensioner bus passes, and all the many other things that local pensioners are forced to go without?

Billions of indestructible nappies are buried in landfill. Why isn't their use banned?

Why can't we recycle DIY and building materials, Pyrex and window glass? Aren't textiles recyclable?

Why doesn't the "recycling" process start with the supermarkets, who create most of our rubbish?

"Recycling" is the now routine smoke and mirrors confidence trick at which Mr Margrett's Labour Party is so adept. What are our recycling commissars going to do about the half million rubber dustbins now mouldering across our county?
