SIR - I do not know which is Britain's oldest school, but it is certainly not Worcester Royal Grammar School.
When I was a pupil at King Edward VI Grammar School, Camp Hill, Birmingham, we celebrated the 400th anniversary of the foundation of the school. I left school in 1935.
Edward VI came to the throne on the death of Henry VIII, to be shortly followed by Mary and then Elizabeth.

My appreciation
of hospital staff
SIR - In recent times, the National Health Service and Worcestershire Royal Hospital has been having some critical press. The treatment I received at Worcester Royal Hospital was excellent.
Recently, I attended the Laurel Three Haematology Unit in Worcester Royal as a day case for treatment. It was of the highest standard from consultants, doctors, nurses and support staff. Their dedication and general care was second to none.
