CHAIRMAN Betty Long greeted 58 members to the January meeting of the Spadesbourne Ladies Club and wished them all a very happy New Year. Mary Rutter was asked about programme planning. She replied that no start had been made yet on the 2007 speakers, but no doubt she would make a start fairly soon. Joan English was invited to tell members about a proposed visit to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in March where we would lunch at the Dormy House Hotel and visit some exhibitions as well.
Registrar Mary Clifford said that we have a full membership of 90, with a waiting list of three ladies. As the Spadesbourne Ladies Club was formed in 1983 and is a completely independent club, a membership of 90 is something to be very proud of in its 23rd year.
Finally, our speaker, Gordon Forest, a member of the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, talked about the wildlife of Chaddesley Woods. Gordon showed photographs of the 'hide' he has to spend hours and hours in to get the pictures of the animals. He was duly thanked by the chairman and the meeting closed after coffee.
