A REDDITCH councillor has featured in a national magazine.

Matchborough ward councillor Juliet Brunner (above) has featured in Local Government First magazine, a weekly publication for councillors.

Mrs Brunner, a member of the town's Conservative group, said the feature invited councillors to send in replies to questions, including what had inspired them to become a councillor and their greatest fears and hopes.

In the feature, she said the fictional character she identified with most was Oliver Twist, and gave her political hero as Margaret Thatcher. And she said the first thing she would change if she became Prime Minister was the education funding criteria.

She said: "I sent mine in last year and completely forgot about it! I had given up hope it would be published. I've had many congratulatory emails from councillors around the country and also from officers at the town hall who found it refreshing to see a Redditch councillor in the magazine."
