St Richard's Hospice proved a firm favourite with bookies in Droitwich.
Customers at Ladbrokes bookmakers, Colman Road, placed their bets then paid to vote for the Shop Personality of the Year, with 23-year-old manager Lucy Toppings first past the post.
She was rewarded with a weekend off work and a night out paid for by her colleagues.
Customers also sponsored staff to stay silent for a day. The total of £1,000 was given to St Richard's Hospice, Rose Hill, Worcester.
Marilyn Peachey, director of fund-raising at St Richard's Hospice, said: "We're delighted that Ladbrokes chose the hospice to receive this donation.
"Last year more than 1,500 patients and their families were given free care. To provide that service we need to raise over £2.3m each year."
The charity is currently building a new Worcester hospice which is due to open this autumn.
