A WORCESTER family is distraught after their three-month old puppy was stolen from their back garden.
They are so upset that a reward is being offered for information leading to the safe return of the dog.
Zak, a golden labrador and a family pet, was a gift for nine-year-old Oliver Kirkman from his father, Granville.
Mr Kirkman said: "The latch on the garden gate has a very distinctive sound. My daughter Vicki heard the latch go up and she saw the dog being lifted and taken."
The theft took place on Monday night between 9.30pm and 10pm.
Mr Kirkman, aged 50, said: "We went out looking for him until about 1.40am. We scoured the area - everywhere - for him.
"We have now put out leaflets around the area and rung local kennels. My son is really upset."
He added that a reward is being offered for Zak's safe return and can be contacted on 01905 758821.
Anyone who saw or heard anything in the area at the given time or is offered a golden labrador puppy to buy can also call the police on 08457 444888 quoting 29/5/170106.
