HAVING performed poorly against Tolladine in the previous league meeting, Powick began this Worcester Saturday League premier division game in determined manner and matched the physical approach of their opponents.

Making his debut in goal, Steve Newman was not tested in the opening half-hour which saw Powick take control and gain a two-goal cushion thanks to composed strikes by Stu Harvey.
Gary and Lee Henderson, along with Jamie Abba, were competing well in the midfield and Powick looked to be heading into the break with a deserved cushion.
A poor decision that angered Powick and amused Tolladine saw a free-kick reduce arrears.
The second-half began with Powick on the back foot and a long through-ball saw a Tolladine striker narrowly win the race to it to draw the scores level.
Shortly after this, an unfortunate own-goal by Harvey from a Tolladine corner was a body blow that was compounded when a Lynch back-pass fell short and Tolladine found themselves with a two-goal cushion.
Powick changed their formation and really went for it and were rewarded when man-of-the-match Harvey completed his second hat-trick in a row with a deft header.
With Powick pushing forward and throwing caution to the wind, Tolladine scored with the last kick of the game to seal their comeback and sink Powick's title hopes.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Powick are at home to Welland Athletic.
