A NEW fund-raiser has been appointed to boost the coffers of the county British Red Cross.
Victoria Anstey is responsible for overseeing the fund-raising activity in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire and solely responsible for the fund-raising budget in Worcestershire.
Her appointment coincides with the forthcoming construction of the new Red Cross centre on Wainwright Road, Warndon, which will enable the charity's emergency vehicles to respond more quickly and effectively. Miss Anstey said: "This brand new post brings with it many opportunities.
"Like any major brand with universal recognition, the Red Cross is internationally respected and acts as a powerful marketing tool.
"My main challenge is to get our local message across to companies area-wide who may not be aware of how we make a difference to the lives of thousands of Worcestershire residents".
The British Red Cross provides unconditional care in a crisis across the world and also in more localised communities.
