Although I no longer live in Malvern, I have visited frequently over many years to see my mum, Marjorie Chater-Hughes, who sadly died on January 6. I felt I really had to write, as I have been reading so many critical letters about Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
My mother sadly became an in-patient in Hazel Wards 1 and 2 shortly before Christmas, following a fall which resulted in a broken hip. I simply cannot fault the care she was given thoughout her stay. The nursing care was outstanding and even though my Mum was 99, every effort was made in the hope she would recover. The hospital was to my eye spotless, I even saw a cleaner on their hands and knees cleaning under a bed. I can't speak for the food, as mum was generally too ill to eat anything, but we had our Christmas Day lunch in the hospital restaurant and it was perfectly acceptable.
All I can say, having had the misfortune to visit several hospitals around the country over the past year, is that Worcester stands head and shoulders over the others.
