DRIVERS using the M50 face delays due to roadworks.
The £3 million project, to lay a quieter and safer road surface, starts tomorrow (Saturday) and could take up to 20 weeks.
The work will take place between the M5 link and Junction 1 at Twyning. One lane will be open in each direction, while the others are resurfaced. There will be also be occasional overnight closures of the whole section.
Work will generally start at 7am and continue until 8pm. There will be some 24-hour working, to complete the work quickly and minimise disruption. A 40mph speed limit will be in force.
Highways Agency project manager Jonathan McCarthy, said: "We're carrying out this work as quickly as possible in order to reduce disruption to motorists.
"Once completed, the renewed carriageway will benefit road users and people living close to the carriageway."
