A LEADING campaigner for Fathers4Justice in Worcester has expressed his sadness that the fathers' rights group has been disbanded.
The announcement to cease the organisation's activities was made on Wednesday by the founder of the group, Matt O'Connor, after it was revealed that four members on its fanatical fringe of hatched a plot to kidnap Tony Blair's five-year-old-son Leo.
Mr O'Connor said: "This lunatic fringe is hell-bent on wreaking havoc and destruction and this grotesque kidnap idea is the final straw for me. I regret to say that after starting this campaign group, we are ceasing our operation for good."
Terry Hunt - who famously protested on the roof of Worcester Crown Court in July 2004 dressed as SpiderMan - said it was a shame the decision had to be made.
The 44-year-old, of Warndon Villages, said: "It's still going on - non-resident parents are still being denied the right to see their children.
"We made a lot of forward moves in Fathers4Justice but there is still a long way to go."
Mr Hunt is still fighting his own personal battle to see his child. He added: "This Government just doesn't seem to care. The only way to move forward now will be if a Conservative government comes into power.
"They have said they will give automatic rights to each parent. But I will still carry on protesting in my lawful way."
Despite getting a criminal record for his nine-hour stint on the court roof, Mr Hunt added: "I have no regrets."
