WYRE Forest swimmers have been invited to exert some energy in a bid to boost the funds of a children's charity.
People of all abilities can take the plunge and add their support to Swimathon 2006, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, at Stourport Sports Centre.
The Harold Davies Drive facility is one of 500 pools nationwide taking part in the event that will raise money for the NCH children's charity and The Swimathon Foundation.
It will be open for the fund-raising dip on Thursday, March 23, between midday and 4pm, and Saturday, March 25, from 5.30pm until 9.30pm.
Duty manager, Andrew Todd, said the centre, which has taken part for four years, was looking to break its record for the number of entrants.
He added: "We are absolutely thrilled to be holding Swimathon 2006 at our pool and encourage everyone in the community to get involved.
"All the money raised will go to worthwhile causes. We are looking into applying for some money from the foundation to help a group of disabled youngsters who visit the centre at weekends."
For more information about how to get involved, call 0845 3670036, visit the website at www.swimathon.org or pick up an entry form from Stourport Sports Centre.
