A FUNNY Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum is a truly hilarious farce, partly scripted by one of the writers for MASH and the inspiration for the wonderful TV series Up Pompeii.
It is set in Rome in 200 BC and boasts a host of colourful characters, quick-witted slaves, harassed husbands and harridans, innocent young lovers, courtesans, eunuchs and beefily inept soldiers.
Mixed together in a pantomimic plot about long-lost children, mistaken identities and hopeful suitors the result is a brew of trickery and confusion, frenetic and unfailingly funny.
