WATERBABES from Kiddermi-nster's Holy Trinity School are celebrating after taking the top girls prize at Wyre Forest Swimming Club's first ever Junior School Swimming Gala at Stourport Leisure Centre.
Making up the Holy Trinity squad were Alexa Wittkop, Arabella Withers, Georgia Tully, Amy Sykes and Kristina Alexandrou.
Holy Trinity competed against rivals from St Annes, Burlish, Franche, The Knoll, Sytchampton, Wilden, All Saints and Wribbenhall.
In front of a large and passionate crowd of spectators, they took first place in the medley relay and secured a second in the freestyle team relay.
Pupils from St Annes won the boys' top prize.
The gala consisted of 10 different races featuring three individual and two relays for both the boys and girls teams.
Swimming club chairman Peter Barnett presented the prizes and praised the swimmers, teachers, officials and spectators for making the gala a success.
He said: "We are absolutely delighted with the way the gala has gone and the enthusiasm of the swimmers and their supporters was great to see.
"At the club, we are used to competing in galas that are invariably exciting events and, despite the young age of the swimmers and their lack of experience, this was no exception."
