A VALE pub has added to its list of accolades as it is named in a new guide as one of the top destinations in the country.
The National Trust-owned Fleece in Bretforton is named by writer Jane Peyton as one of the best one-of-a-kind pubs in Britain in Pub Scene.
The book, to be published next month by Wiley Academy, lists the top pubs in five different categories including those with pretty gardens, pubs with good grub and the best gin palaces.
Licensee Nigel Smith said he was delighted the Fleece had been included in the book.
"It isn't the first mention we have had in this type of book, but it helps to reinforce our reputation as being a pub that has something special to offer. The Fleece is very much a one-of-a-kind pub and that's the way we aim to keep it."
The pub, whose collection of pewter is second only to the Queen's, is a popular destination for visitors.
