REGULARS at a Bewdley pub celebrated the new year in style - and helped swell the fund to replace the Rhydd Covert activity centre burned down by vandals 14 months ago.
The Mug House on Severnside North laid on a free fireworks display on the opposite side of the river and asked revellers to donate their small change for Operation Covert.
The effort raised £105 and assistant manager, John Townson, said: "It was a great night and people were very generous. Some even threw a fiver into the collecting bucket.
"We put the night on free for our customers but thought it would be nice to tie it in with a local charity."
