Shipston 12, Evesham U-11 12pts
THE opening quarter belonged to Shipston attack as Evesham's backs displayed great determination to keep out the opposition.
Evesham went on to compete well around the field but they continued to struggle in the line-outs where they lost a lot of ball.
The turning point of the match came with the ball passing through several pairs of hands until Harry Charmley broke the line, fed Ben Capaldi who floated a superb ball out for Jack Hughes to round the defence and touch down before adding the conversion.
Shellshocked Shipston really turned up the pressure and eventually went over for a levelling score.
The hosts made several changes in the hope of swinging the game their way only to meet some superb committed defence from Hughes, player of the match Josh Sands, Kieran Court, Sion Roberts and Marcus Bailey.
Shipston eventually drove over in the corner to take a 12-7 lead and, with the clock running down, Charmley charged up the park but was caught ten metres short.
However, some foul play gifted Evesham a penalty and a quick tap was spun to Hughes who broke three tackles and then rounded a fourth man to level the scores.
Unfortunately, Ben Capaldi missed the conversion but a draw was the fairest result in light of the effort from both sides.
