Harborne 27pts, Evesham 15
BUOYANT Evesham hit the road to face higher graded opposition for a friendly last Saturday.
Playing down the significant slope, the hosts launched attack after attack in the opening exchanges but the Evesham defence held firm with Joe Worth and Sam Garrett making some outstanding tackles.
Harborne finally gained their reward with an easy try but Evesham rallied and launched some attacks before gain being forced on the back foot.
The Birmingham side took advantage of this territorial superiority to score all their points in the opening 40 minutes and out the game beyond the Avonsiders.
After some stern words, Evesham came out fighting in the second half and Chris Evis made a fine break up the touch line to score a nice try.
The visitors now had to keep scoring quickly and they did just that when Mike O'Loughlin powered past the full back to cross for a converted try almost straight from the restart.
Evesham now had their tails up and were in charge only to find the home defence a tough nut t crack despite several forays towards the Harborne line and all they manage a further penalty sent over by O'Loughlin.
