LAST weekend's Severn match was transferred to The Fishery when the banks were declared unsafe although the river was in good condition.
Dougie Smith emerged the winner to lift the Charles Thom-pson Cup after netting chub, carp and roach for a weight of 14.12.0 to edge out Keith Foster and Phil Seedhouse who both recorded 13.6.0.
Members are scheduled to travel to Defford Road, Pershore for Sunday's Avon Shield Series contest and should gather at 7.45am for the draw at 8.
Evesham WMC
THE first round of the Winter League was fished on the Avon at the Common where Keith Locke only needed 2.8.0 of small skimmers and roach on the groundbait feeder to take top spot.
Andy Hammerton and Vic Woods finished joint second with small roach for 2.4.8.
The next match is at Manor Farm's Boundary Pool with the draw at 7.45am.
