Pershore 0pts, Hereford 80
HEREFORD played rugby on Saturday that Pershore, and the rest of the league, can only dream about!
They were quite magnificent and played the game at an up-tempo pace throughout as forwards and backs combined together to win quick ball, recycle possession and avoiding a battle up front to preserve energy to play a running game.
Their backs passed early and supported in earnest with short quick inter-passing eventually wearing Pershore's defence down. And, when the gaps appeared they scored at will.
Importantly, even when facing an uphill battle, and obviously on the end of a large defeat, the home side competed and played for the whole 80 minutes and not one of the Pershore player's heads went down. For that alone they should be applauded!
Hereford scored at regular intervals throughout and a score of 34-0 at half-time left Pershore facing damage limitation if Hereford were to continue in the same vein.
Unfortunately for Pershore, the visitors were in ruthless mood and they remained focused for the duration.
Without doubt, on this particular performance, there isn't another team in the league who would be able to live with a Hereford side in this mood.
Pershore can definitely get back on track because they are a good team with talented individuals and, with the strength of character they showed last weekend, they will soon put a winning run together.
