RE: Alderman Knight and Belmont Schools. Having a grandson at Alderman Knight School in Tewkesbury and the wonderful news that our special needs are safe now that Gloucestershire County Council's Schools Organisation Committee sat on January 10, I want to pay sincere and grateful thanks to all those who have helped our campaign.
I want to thank Cotswold district councillor Ben Jeffrey and Tony Wilmore for their large donations to the school's fighting fund. Also, I want to thank Tina Croft from Blockley and Brian Eels from Bourton and the other supporters who have donated.
I want to thank the school governors and head teacher at Alderman Knight, who have gone through years of trauma and uncertainty over this closure threat.
Also, thanks to the Conservatives at Shire Hall, Lt Col Furtado of Mickleton, who is on the Schools Organisation Committee and Jackie Hall, the councillor with responsibility for children's services, who all assisted in the correct decision being made at last.
Our children can now look forward to a brighter future as Alderman Knight covers many areas in the north Cotswolds.
Finally, I would like to thank the Journal for its coverage and support. You did an excellent job all round and special thanks go to reporters Mark Jessop and Matthew Martin. We have got a miracle!
