Local History Society: On a Wing and a Prayer - the Cathedral Builders, was the title of a talk by Keith Cattell. The retired architect traced the techniques and skills used by cathedral builders from the fourth to the 20th centuries. The next talk, The Fairground Calendar will be presented by the society's chairman, Graham Downie. Mr Downie, as secretary of the Showmen's Guild, is an authority on the history of fairs. The society's AGM will precede the talk so the evening will start earlier than usual at 7.45pm on Wednesday, February 8, at The Greig Centre.
