Droitwich Spa 2 Warwick Town 0

DROITWICH Spa's five game unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday, as they slumped to defeat to fellow relegation rivals Warwick.

Spa, who had not lost since the start of November, was shot down by a goal in each half by their Warwickshire opponents.

Manager Tom Goss said: "We were out-thought and out-fought by Warwick.

"It was disappointing because we had been on a good run before, but I can't complain because we deserved to lose.

"I can only treat this as a one-off and hope that the players react in a positive way."

Spa faces the biggest test of its mettle when they take on leaders Birmingham University on Saturday, January 21 (2pm kick off).

Droitwich's opponents thrashed Chelmsley Town 8-0 on Saturday.

Goss said: "If we play like we did against Warwick then it could be a cricket score on Saturday.

"We need to improve a lot if we are going to give Birmingham University a game, they are the best team in the league by some way."
