Following the successful December party, when members and their guests enjoyed a Christmas meal, games and carol singing, the president - Lynne Reading - welcomed a large number to the first meeting of the New Year. The speaker, Mr M Jones from Stourport, who was accompanied by his wife, gave a talk on Bees, Bee Keeping and Honey.
At the end, members were able to purchase pots of Mr Jones' honey - a delicious way to end a speaker's visit!
During the formal part of the evening, members were asked to list suggestions for activities during the year and listened as the list of those already planned within the county were read out. As usual, very pleasant refreshments were served.
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 14, when the speaker's subject (naturally) will be Romance in Song. Visitors are always welcome, as are new members. Finally, look out in the parish magazine for the year's calendar of meetings.
