A GRATEFUL hound returned to the scene of her rescue to thank the firefighters who saved her life.
Three-year-old boxer Jade dropped in with her owner Janice Putsman to thank members of Bromsgrove's Red Watch, who cut her free from a collar which nearly choked her to death.
The incident happened when Janice, from Top Road, Wildmoor, was unable to remove the choker collar, which was causing Jade great discomfort. The quick-thinking dog owner rushed her pet to the station, where firefighters were able to save the day.
Yesterday (Tuesday) Janice thanked the crew for saving her pet by presenting them with a box of chocolates.
"I would like to thank the fire brigade. I do not know what we would have done because we would not have been able to get the collar off," said a grateful Janice.
"Also, I want to make people aware of these chokers, because it could happen to somebody else," she added.
