THE future of Bromsgrove's only nightclub looks uncertain after staff were given their marching orders.
Employees from Euphoria, in Worcester Road, received a letter last week saying their employment had been terminated with immediate effect.
The letter said that due to very poor trading experienced recently IME Leisure Ltd, which it is believed ran Euphoria, had ceased trading.
It said all matters relating to the company were being dealt with by the official receiver and queries or claims should be directed to them.
One worried former employee, who contacted the Advertiser/Messenger, said: "We got paid cash in hand every week, but we haven't been paid since just before Christmas, so are all owed money.
"We have been left in limbo and don't know what is going on. We've tried to contact the club, but the phone number isn't working. We want to know what is happening about our jobs."
Around 20 staff members have lost their jobs. Those who booked the venue for private functions have also been left in the dark.
Mystery has surrounded the nightclub since it closed suddenly earlier this month.
Last week Euphoria manager James Hyde said the closure was so management and staff could have time off after the busy Christmas and New Year period.
He said the club was due to open for business as usual last Thursday. But it was shut the entire weekend. Signs have now appeared outside the club saying it is closed until further notice.
A spokesman for Euphoria could not be contacted at the time we went to press.
