A 15-YEAR-OLD boy needed hospital treatment after he was hit over the head by youths who stole his bike.
The incident happened in Shawhurst Lane, Wythall, at around 5.25pm last Sunday.
The lad was cycling along Shawhurst Lane when three youths stopped him. They threatened him, hit him over the head with what is believed to be a bat and then stole his bike from him.
The victim was treated in hospital for injuries to his head.
The stolen bike was a blue Dual Shock mountain bike worth around £200.
The first offender is described as a white male, 16 to 17-years-old, 5ft 10in tall with a medium build and shaved blonde/brown hair. He was wearing a hooded top with the hood worn up and was riding an orange-coloured mountain bike.
The other two offenders are also described as white males of a similar age.
DC Mark Carter said: "We are appealing to anyone who can help us identify the offenders to get in touch, especially if they can link someone of this description with the distinctive orange-coloured mountain bike one of them was riding.
"We particularly want to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery itself or recalls seeing a group of three white youths in the Shawhurst Lane area around the time of the incident."
He added: "We're also keen to hear from anyone with details on the current whereabouts of the stolen bike."
Anyone with information can contact DC Carter on 08457 444 888 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
