A CHILLED out and relaxed album, perfect for taking a bit of time out from the world, Jose Gonzalez' Veneer is already gathering pace in the music charts.
Anyone who likes Damien Rice will love this album although this has more of a classical feel, even reminiscent of Tim Buckley.
However it does seem to have the same sounds running throughout and it is difficult to distinguish some of the tracks, as they do all tend to merge into one after a while.
But his sound is quite clear and unchallenged and quite refreshing with his classical guitar sounds and soulful voice.
The 27-year-old is a rising star in Scandinavia and I am convinced that there are a couple of top 10 hits hidden in there somewhere - especially considering his debut single went to number one when it was released in Sweden, (and one of the songs is on a Sony advert).
For his debut album, this is one to watch out for in the future, and I am sure he will continue to get better.
