Vandals are making life a misery for gardeners at a town allotment.
The owner of one of the plots situated off Westwood Road has been forced to sell his greenhouse after becoming fed up with having to fix the damage caused by repeated attacks.
Trevor Scott said he had had enough of the vandalism which he believes is caused by youths in the area. He said the trouble had got worse during the run-up to the New Year, with windows smashed and the door pulled off his greenhouse. One incident saw him fix some of the damage during the daytime only for the vandals to return the following night.
"I have been at Westwood Allotments for around three or four years and will still stay there but won't keep the greenhouse. A lot of people are fed up with the problem," he added.
County councillor Peter Pinfield (Lab-Droit West), who is also secretary of Droitwich's Allotment Association, said: "We seem to go through bad phases at the allotment when the vandalism takes place. It is a really nice facility but all the work can be undermined. We need to work with the police."
Cllr Pinfield also appealed to the public to tell the police if they know who is committing the damage.
A police spokesman said: "If anyone has any information regardingdamage at this location, we would like to hear from them."
