A SCIENTIFICALLY-minded Redditch librarian jetted off the Geneva where she won an award.
Mandy Curtis, librarian at Woodfield Middle School, joined 500 science teachers at the Science on Stage international conference.
And while she was there she scooped an award for promoting science, as well as extra funding for the Studley Road school.
Mrs Curtis said she had been surprised to get on the programme in the first place, let alone win an award.
"When they called my name out it was the first I had heard of it. There were 500 science teachers there and only seven awards and I got one, I can't believe it," she said.
"The award is for inspirational motivation of pupils, which is just 'wow'."
She said she had been promoting science in the library as part of Einstein Year, on the suggestion of her son, a PhD student.
Mrs Curtis added: "I just thoroughly enjoyed it," Mrs Curtis added.
