PRESIDENT Jill Warner wished all members a happy new year before starting the business of the evening. The trip to Chester had been successful, and everyone had enjoyed the group carol service.
The rambling group's walk around the Birmingham canals had been very interesting.
The new year's programme was busy with the Lucy Hingley lecture, a drama festival, the annual council meeting and the spring group meeting.
Names were taken of members who wanted to attend any of these meetings.
Keep fit classes start at the village hall next week and the rambling club will be walking Tamworth -in- Arden and Umberslade.
The 10-year scrapbook for 2005 can now be assembled and scrapbookers will soon meet to complete their work.
The speaker for the evening was Felicity Rixton, of Hillside WI, who gave a demonstration of Thai cookery.
She spoke about her visit to Thailand and her interest in cookery as she prepared the ingredients for a Thai green curry which members were able to sample .
The WI meets at Wythall Village Hall at 7.30pm on the first Thursday of each month. Visitors are always welcome.
