The chance to play at Old Trafford is a dream come true for Andy Corbett, who as a boy bought all the Manchester United strips and once watched his heroes from the stands.

The part-time amateur footballer will tonight set foot on one of the most famous football pitches in the world to play a team of world-beaters.

His team, tiny Burton Albion, are facing the Premiership stars in an FA Cup Third Round replay after a draw 10 days ago at their non-league ground.

Andy said: "We went up to have a look round Old Trafford on Thursday. It's another world.

"In their changing room they have a massive jacuzzi. In ours, we have one bath."

The 25-year-old, who went to the Chantry High School in Martley and lives with his mum and dad, had a baptism of fire in the first match, when his job was to mark international superstars Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said: "I had to pinch myself a couple of times during the game. It was all a bit surreal.

"Now, to play at Old Trafford is just an unbelievable privilege and I've been on a high ever since I knew we would be playing there.

"I was always a Manchester United supporter. I bought all the strips and went to watch them so this is a dream come true."

A coachload of 68 is to make the journey from Andy's village, but for those who cannot make it, the game is being screened live on Match Of The Day on BBC1 from 7.30pm.

Andy added: "It's weird to be in the limelight like this. As I play at the back, I'm sure Alan Hansen will have a few things to say as he likes criticising defenders. I'll watch it on the video afterwards."

Andy, a personal trainer when he is not playing football, is realistic about the team's chances.

"As long as we don't get annihilated and keep it in single figures, I'm sure it'll be a great night," he said.
