THREE young people in Worcester have moved in to brand-new homes thanks to a partnership between Worcester City Council and a housing group.

The council's strategic housing services worked in co-operation with Bromford Housing group to provide the rented flats, in The Butts area of the city centre.

The new residents, all of whom are aged between 19 and 21, were nominated from the council's waiting list and moved in to their new homes last week.

Laura Brighton, project officer at Worcester City Council, said: "By working in partnership with the city's housing associations we're continuing to make a positive impact on homelessness in Worcester by re-housing people, even though we no longer have our own homes to rent.

"However, it's not only about homeless applicants - we aim to enable housing associations to develop new homes for all sectors of the public, hence the additional units at this site available for shared ownership."

If anyone is interested in a shared ownership flat at the city centre location, they can contact Bromford Housing Group on 01902 393713.

Priority for the properties will be given to people who live or work in the city.
