THIS may be a rather belated compliment, but the Farmer's Arms at Kempsey certainly knows how to usher in the new year.
It was at this renowned hostelry that I found myself on the fateful night, having a few slugs of the jug, and occasionally venturing out on to the dance floor in order to provide some entertainment for those unlucky enough to be within flailing distance.
A thought occurred. There was something magical about this place. Yes, it reminded me of village hall hops back in my youth when the entire community periodically turned out to kick over the traces of a Saturday night.
The Farmer's annual bash is now something of a tradition.
