THE Worcester law firm Harrison Clark raised more than £22,500 during 2005 for its selected charity of the year Leukaemia CARE.
The majority of the money was raised under the Gift Aid Scheme which enables the charity to recover an additional 28 per cent from the Inland Revenue, bringing the total raised by Harrison Clark to almost £30,000.
Over the last 12 months the practice has implemented a variety of fund-raising events and activities for the national charity which is based in Blackpole, Worcester.
"We are a local firm working with businesses and organisations small and large throughout the Worcestershire community," said Robert Capper, a partner in the business services department at Harrison Clark who spearheaded the fund-raising.
"It made sense to select Leukaemia CARE which also works hard within the local community," Mr Capper said.
Harrison Clark's fund-raising efforts saw entrants in the Flora London Marathon, the Leukaemia CARE Santa Fun Run, the organisation of a charity ball, quiz night, dress down days and parachute jumps.
"Our charity ball at the Chateau Impney Hotel was attended by many local professionals and businesses people and was a fantastic occasion, raising more than £15,000 for Leukaemia CARE. It was an example of what Worcester-shire businesses can achieve for the local community,." Mr Capper said.
Harrison Clark's selected corporate charity for 2006 is Barnardos.
