A TEENAGER from Hanley Swan has won an award for his community work.
Chris Morris, aged 17, will receive a Worcestershire County Council Tryangle Award, which is presented to young people who make a significant contribution to society.
Chris was nominated for his leadership in setting up Hanley Youth Club and for being a role model to other members.
District councillor Sue Adeney, one of the club's core organisers, praised the role Chris had played.
"Chris played a huge part in setting up the club and is very popular with the younger members, who always turn to him to get things going," she said. "Everyone is really pleased he's won the award, as it's recognition that community service is a cool thing."
Chris will collect the award later this month at a ceremony at Worcester Rugby Club's ground.
