MEMBERS of the Amazing Feet Running Club took part in the third race of the winter cross country league, at the Old Walsall airport, Aldridge.
In the Midland Women's League, Sarah Armstrong came 37th in 23 minutes 24 seconds, one place ahead of Rachel Ward in 23-33.
Kirstie Dunn was 120th in 29-41, and Jane Pye returned from a long lay-off due to injury to record 136th in 33-36. Completing the Feet's ladies' line-up was Jacquie Atkinson, 138th in 35-42.
There were 13 club men on the start line for the Birmingham and District Invitation League event,, but as two runners had to pull out injured, the club was unable to complete a B team in this fixture for the first time this season.
However, the club team came 10th on the day, maintaining the Feet's overall 10th position in Division Four.
Finishers were: Shaw Pye 17th 39-27, Simon Jarosinski 49th 42-34, Craig Lewis 50th 42-35, Martin Howles 64th 43-35, Chris Gibson 81st 45-07, David Whymant 99th 46-16, David Pye 107th 46-47, Mike Warren 125th 48-02, Paul Hancock 138th 50-04, Roger Canavan 147th 51-55, Lindsay Pulley 161st 57-55.
Two club ladies visited Gloucester on Sunday for the 24th annual 10-mile road race. Liz Belcher finished first junior lady and 208th overall in one hour 34-49, while Marie Byrne finished 216th in 1-35-39.
In the final event of the race league for 2005, at Wheaton Aston, 13 members completed the 10k road race.
Lewis was first home for the club in 53rd position in 41-09, and he was followed by Howles 59th 41-43, Armstrong 65th (second F35) 41-48, John Amos 68th (4th M50) 42-01, David Pye 80th 43-01, Ward 82nd (first F45) 43-17, Gerry Sanders 180th 49-12, Sarah Lewis 186th 49-24, Tamara Carse 211th 50-57, Pulley 236th (3rd M65) 52-31, Belcher 240th 53-02, Richard Baker 257th 54-02, Byrne 286th 56-21.
These results mean that Amos retains his league title by a narrow margin from C Lewis, with D Pye third, and Armstrong retains her ladies' title, with S Lewis second and Carse third.
Amos, D Pye, Carse and Sanders ran in all 16 races.
Amos also took part in the Hereford New Year 10km, finishing 82nd of the 221 finishers in 43.52.
