IRENE Pugh produced a classy performance to help Wribbenhall Social crush Rising Sun A for their first victory of the Banks's Bewdley darts league season.
Dave Hughes and Ian Price were also instrumental as Social won 4-3 - their first victory in 15 attempts.
Pugh held off the challenge of Sun captain Mick Link to seal the success.
Bliss Gate romped to a 6-1 win over Waggon A to exact revenge for their defeat in last season's title decider between the two teams.
Captain Jackie Crew helped Waggon & Horses beat Rising Sun B 4-3 to move into the top four with wins by Graham Perry, Paul Edwards and Paula Brabbing.
Cock & Magpies' poor form continued with a heavy 6-1 defeat to Red Lion A, while Red Lion B took all three points with a 5-2 win over Great Western.
Bowling Club A trounced Black Boy A 6-1 and Black Boy B walloped Bowling Club B by the same scoreline. Waggon B had a bye.
A re-arranged match saw Bliss Gate overcome Bowling Club A 6-1 with Bliss Gate's Mat Sheehan hitting a 160 break in the opening match.
The singles showdown takes place this week with champion Des Tipper defending his title at Bliss Gate.
He will be battling it out against Dennis Clarke, Richard Nichols, Duncan Taylor, Jes Smith, Dave Edwards, Darren Edwards, Rick Sault and Terry Devlin.
The competition sees 69 players competing in a mini knockout in eight of the league's pubs.
There will be one winner at each venue leaving eight players to go through to the quarter finals in March.
