THIEVES who broke into a house in Broadway in broad daylight escaped with goods worth hundreds of pounds.
Police believe only the return of the householder prevented their plasma TV joining the haul. It was recovered from underneath the kitchen window.
The break-in, at a house in Leamington Road, is believed to have happened between 8.30am and 10.35am on Friday.
The thief or thieves entered the house by forcing a downstairs kitchen window before searching the lounge, main bedrooms and other rooms in the property.
Electrical equipment including an Apple iPod personal stereo player was stolen together with various DVDs and CDs, a Nikon digital camera worth £600 and a distinctive necklace.
The plasma TV was found outside the house and police believe the stolen property was carried across a side garden to the part of garden which fronts on to Leamington Road.
Evesham police have appealed for help from anyone who might have been in the area at the time or who is offered goods answering the description of the stolen property. Witnesses should call 08457 444 888.
